Recruitment of Engineers in BMRC

Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited, a Joint Venture of Government of India and

Government of Karnataka, is the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) entrusted with the
responsibility of implementation of Bangalore Metro Rail Project.

BMRCL invites qualified and experienced Officers for a walk-in-interview for appointment to key
senior and middle level management positions on deputation / contract basis. Retired
Engineers from Government / PSUs, not more than 63 years of age, are also eligible. Job Profile

Post Job description
Chief Security Officer He shall head the Security Wing of BMRCL and shall be
responsible for all security matters both in the Project Wing and O
& M Wing. He will report to the Managing Director. He shall be
responsible for setting up a Security System to take care of
preventive security measures and response mechanisms to
remedy breaches. The job involves-     Coordination with State Police and other Security Agencies.

-     Security training for staff

-     Security information for commuters

-     Coordination during emergencies / accidents

Dy. Chief Engineer (Signalling) He shall be responsible for design / construction / and execution
of signaling installations involving Train Control System /
Automatic Train Protection, Computer based interlocking.
Automatic Train Operation, automatic Train Supervision and
related intercommunication among various systems from
preparation of specification to the stage of commissioning.
Executive Engineer (Planning) Should know primavera, planning, fore-casting, suggesting catch
up programmes for projects. Progress monitoring, monthly and
weekly reports, resource identification, etc.
Asst. Executive Engineer (Rolling
Stock)
He shall assist DGM(RS) and be responsible for all works
relating to Rolling Stock such as clearance of design and
drawings, monitoring production and transportation of trains to
depot, supply, testing and commissioning of Rolling Stock . He
will also be responsible for General Electrical Services, Auxiliary
equipments such as DG, EOT cranes, Bogie Tractors, Simulators,
Pit Lifting Jacks, Mobile Lifting Jacks etc. in the Depot.
Asst. Executive Engineer
(Electrical & Mechanical
Services)
He shall be responsible for Environmental Control System,
Building & Exterior Lighting, Fire detection & Suppression System,
Electrical Power System, Building Management System,
Plumbing, Sanitary and Drainage Systems, Fire fighting etc. for
Elevated Stations , Underground Stations and Tunnels.

Asst. Executive Engineer (Tel &
AFC)
He shall assist DCE / EE (T&AFC) in all works relating to
installation and commissioning of telecommunication equipments
/ systems and Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) System of a
Metro. He will liaison with all associated agencies to discharge his
function in an effective and efficient manner.
Assistant Executive Engineer
(Quality)
Ensure quality assurance and quality control, suggest suitable
methods to improve quality, manage day to day QC tests at site
and in lab, identification of resources, mix designs, etc.
Assistant Executive Engineer
(Works)
On field supervision of execution of works, monitoring contract
conditions, assisting the Executive Engineers.
Asst. Executive Engineer (Safety) Educate on safety issues, ensure safety measures, suggest
improvements in safety measure, prepare weekly & monthly
reports, prepare Safety, Health and Environment guidelines, etc.
Assistant Engineer Assist site engineer, supervise bar bending, shuttering, concreting,
piling, pre cast structures supervision, etc.
Environment Officer Shall be responsible for ensuring compliance in respect of
environment issues of the Project including coordination with local
bodies for obtaining permissions etc. Shall be responsible for
developing plantation and looking after issues relating to Carbon
Credit
Executive Assistant (Primavera) Shall be responsible for the usage and maintenance of Primavera
software. Shall assist the officer in charge of Project
Management / Contract Management through optimum utilization
of Primavera software including status updation, coordination with
company officers for obtaining information for such updation and
generation of MIS reports.

Besides the above consolidated monthly pay, telephone facility, medical and personal
accident insurance cover will be provided as admissible under BMRCL rules for all the
above posts. Conveyance as per Company Rules shall be available for the posts of
CSO, DCE, EE, EO and AEE.

III. CONTRACT APPOINTMENT

1.    The Contract Appointment will be initially for 3 years, extendable for further periods on
mutually agreed terms and conditions.

2.     The contractual period of appointment may be terminated by either side by giving 30
days notice or by paying the contractual remuneration of one month in lieu of notice
period, if the circumstances so warrant.

5 IV. CONDITIONS

1.    Candidates who have appeared for walk in interviews conducted by BMRCL for the
above said posts on an earlier occasion need not appear for the interview again unless
there is a change in the eligibility criteria.2.     Prescribed qualifications are the minimum requirements and mere possession of the
same does not entitle candidates to be called for interview.

3.     The experience is post qualification and the minimum required. Mere possession of
minimum experience does not confer any right for interview / selection.

4.     Any canvassing by or on behalf of the candidates or to bring political or other outside
influence with regard to selection/appointment shall be a disqualification.

5.     Selection will be by a Committee constituted by the Competent Authority.

6.     The candidates who are working with State Government Departments / Public Sector
Undertakings may attend the walk-in-interview and if the candidate is selected,
BMRCL will seek consent for deputation from the respective Organization. In respect
of candidates working in Central government / Central PSUs, they may attend the walk-
in-interview, after obtaining prior permission from their respective Organizations.

V. SELECTION

1.    Candidates appearing for walk-in-interview should down load application format
attached, fill up the same and come along with all the relevant certificates, testimonials
as prescribed for the post in originals and one set of Photostat copies for verification.
After verification, the candidate has to submit a set of Photostat copies of verified
certificates and testimonials.

2.     Any candidate found guilty of impersonation or submitting fabricated documents or
making statements, which are false or incorrect or attempts to use unfair means for the
purpose of recruitment, will be liable for rejection.

3.     The candidate shall have to indicate his/her acceptance to the offer within fifteen days
from the receipt of offer, if not, next candidate in order of merit will be offered the
appointment on similar lines. The Competent Authority may grant such extension of time
depending upon the exigencies.

4.     The candidates shall have to appear for interview at their own cost.

VI. MISCELLANEOUS

1.    Documents in support of qualification and relevant experience shall be submitted along
with the Resume at the time of interview. Non-submission of documents along with the
Resume, will lead to rejection of candidature at any stage during the process of
recruitment.

2.     BMRCL shall not be liable for any damage / injury / loss to the individual, if any,
sustained during the entire recruitment process and journey.

3.     Management reserves the right to assess fitness or otherwise of the candidates
selected.

VII. TIME & DATE OF WALK-IN-INTERVIEW

Interviews for all the posts specified above will be held at BMRCL Head Office at 3rd Floor,
BMTC Complex, K.H. Road, Shanthinagar, Bangalore-560 027, every Friday and Saturday
starting from 11.02.2011. Interviews will be held from 3.00 PM to 6.00 PM from
11.02.2011 to 26.02.2011.
