Applications are invited from suitable candidates for appointment on whole time basis in
the State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission in Delhi, established under the
Consumer Protection Act, 1986, for one post of Member (Female-non judicial) & one
post of Member (judicial) in State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Delhi,
for creation of second Bench.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Member (Female-non judicial) 1 Post
(a) The applicant should be less than 35 years of age.
(b) Should possess a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university; and
(c) Be a person of ability, integrity and standing and have adequate knowledge and
experience of at least 10 years in dealing with problems relating to economics, law,
commerce, accountancy, industry, public affairs or administration.
Member (Judicial) : 1 Post
1. The applicant should not be less than 35 years of age.
2. Persons having judicial background i.e. persons having knowledge and experience
for at least a period of 10 years as a presiding officer at the District level Court or any
Tribunal at equivalent level may be considered for this post.
The Member of the State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission shall hold office
for a term of 5 years or up to the age of 67 years, whichever is earlier.
EMOLUMENTS
A Member of State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, when appointed on
whole time basis, shall receive a consolidated honorarium of Rs. 10,000/- (Rupee Ten
thousand only) per month or if appointed on part time basis, a consolidated honorarium of
Rs. 500/- (Rupees five hundred only) per day of sitting.
For the purpose of attending of sitting of State Consumer Disputes Redressal
Commission, a Member shall be entitled to conveyance charges of Rs. 9500/- (Rupees
nine thousand five hundred only) per month.
The other terms & conditions of assignment shall be regulated in accordance with the
provisions of Consumer Protection Act, 1986 and the Rules framed there under, as
amended from time to time.
Apart from selecting candidates against the vacancy mentioned above, the
Department reserves, the right to form a panel of candidates till the additional vacancies
that may arise during the year 2010-2011 or as a result of a selected candidate failing
to join, without any obligation of appointment to the waiting list candidates. The panel
so prepared would be valid for a period of one year from the date of approval by the
competent authority.
INFORMATION REQUIRED TO BE FURNISHED:
The candidates applying for the above said post(s) are required to give the following
information in their applications.
(a) Full name in block letters along with surname, if any
(b) Date of birth supported by attested photo copy of birth certificate, matriculation or
higher secondary certificate or passport.
(c) Residential address & office address, with telephone number, if any.
(d) Whether she belongs to SC/ST category? If so, supported by an attested photo copy of
SC/ST certificate.
(e) Date of passing of Matriculation / Higher Secondary / Senior Cambridge and other
examinations, the Board/University from which passed and the division obtained in
each examination supported by attested photo copies of certificates and mark-sheets.
(f) Languages which the candidate can read and write.
(g) Whether the candidate has more than one living spouse?
h) Has the candidate ever been arrested, prosecuted, kept under detention, or bound
down/convicted by a court of law for any offence or debarred/disqualified by any Public
Service Commission from appearing at its examination/selections, or debarred from
any examination/rusticated by any University or any other educational/authority/
institution? If so, give details. If any proceeding for such action is pending or proposed
to be initiated to the knowledge of the candidate, particulars with regard to the same
may also be furnished.
(i) (i) Whether the candidate has ever been in service? And if so, details of service, viz.
designation held, the period of service, the name of department and the reasons for
leaving the service be4 indicated,
(ii) Whether in service at the time of submission of application and if so, a certificate to
the above effect from the employer must be furnished along with the application,
(j) Whether the candidate has ever applied for the above post? If so, in which year? It may
also be indicated whether she was called for interview,
(k) Any other information, the candidate may like to give.
Persons who are already in service are required to obtain the clearance / sponsorship
of their Department / Employer and route their applications through proper channel to the
Director/Additional Secretary (Consumer Affairs), Department of Food, Supplies &
Consumer Affairs, GNCTD, K-Block, Vikas Bhawan, IMP. Estate, New Delhi – 110 002.
The applications, accompanied by photocopies of testimonials attested by a Gazetted
Officer, acknowledgement for filing of Income Tax Returns / Statement of Accounts and
Assessment Order for the last 3 years, together with a passport size photograph attested
by Gazetted Officer should be sent by Registered Post with Acknowledgement Card
mentioning the words “Application for the post of Member (Female – non Judicial) &
Member (Judicial) in State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Delhi”
superimposed on the envelope, at the above mentioned address so as to reach not later
than 17.01.2011 APPLICATIONS WHICH ARE INCOMPLETE OR LACKING IN ANY
DETAILS/ DOCUMENTS. AS ASKED FOR AND THOSE RECEIVED AFTER THE LAST
DATE OF RECEIPT OF APPLICATIONS, ARE LIABLE TO BE DEJECTED SUMMARILY
AND NO CORRESPONDENCE IN THIS REGARD WILL BE ENTERTAINED.
